Many people know the International Film Festival which takes place in Cannes (FRANCE) at the beginning of each summer. All professionals from the world of cinema meet on the Croisette for the occasion, an ideal time for meetings and networking. But what we tend to ignore is that just after this unmissable Film Festival is held the Cannes Lions, International Advertising Festival. All the major communications agencies are present as well as the major social network leaders such as Snapchat, Spotify, Facebook and Linked In.
For a few days, the number 1 professional social network Linked In privatized several spaces and terraces of the JW Marriott Cannes to organize meetings and conferences around different subjects. To thank its employees who came from all over the world to participate in the event, the brand had the wonderful idea of offering them a leather passport holder personalized by me. A convivial moment of smiles and exchanges where the guests could choose the color of their leather as well as the pattern to be painted on it.
I have been doing leather personalization at events for many years now and have observed that the recipes that work best are often the simplest. Few of the guests ask for images and figurative representations. Indeed, most requests are rather to write the initials, and very often in a fairly simple typographic or calligraphic style.
An observation that was confirmed during this stay at the JW JW Marriott where the participants in the seminars essentially asked for initials painted by hand on their Passport Holder.
